Hon. James Dwem, Commissioner, Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology and Innovation, yesterday received an award of Excellence in recognition of his exceptional service and leadership while serving as the immediate past caretaker Chairman of Makurdi Local Government Council.

The Commissioner who played host to the Makurdi Local Government Revenue Department Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Limited with the Award in his office, at the Ministry Headquarters expressed gratitude to the team for finding him worthy of this honour. He said the award was a proof of their recognition of his dedication to service in line with Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s vision.

Mr. Dwem further stated that, the Alia’s administration is people oriented which informed his decision to build a befitting structure in order to create a conducive atmosphere for the revenue staff during his tenure, and he is glad they are enjoying his legacy.

He urged the revenue team to remain hardworking and supportive of the present administration as it is working tirelessly to better the lives of the Benue citizens.

Earlier, the Chairman, Makurdi Local Government Revenue Department Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Limited, Comrade Swende Philip said that they had come in recognition of Hon. Dwem’s exceptional leadership exhibited during his tenure as the immediate past Makurdi caretaker Chairman.

The chairman also acknowledged Mr. Dwem’s contribution in constructing and delivering a befitting office block which has solved a long standing infrastructural challenge faced for years, which stands a lasting testimony of the commissioner’s dedication to community growth.

In another Speech Elder Bartholomew Addi, appreciated the Commissioner’s contributions in the development recorded in the revenue department, pledging their support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election.

Highlight was the presentation of the Award of Excellence to the honorable commissioner.
